Up close
3/4" real hardwood for anyone who wants a dark, elegant floor, in straight planks or herringbone. Tourlos is a deep brown oak with a bold grain that gives presence to living and dining rooms and contrasts beautifully with light walls and furniture. The French white oak is fumed to develop the color without a surface stain, and the ultra-matte finish hides dust and footprints better than a gloss, which matters on a dark floor. The same color comes in 6" planks and in 4-3/4" pattern pieces. It goes on any level of the house; per the manufacturer, it is not recommended for bathrooms or very humid areas. With hardwood, what decides how long the floor lasts is what you can't see: moisture in the slab. That's why we check the slab before we install.
