Up close
Real hardwood that isn't afraid of water: for anyone who wants the authentic look of oak in kitchens and bathrooms too. Espresso with a fine, even grain, in American hickory: deep and elegant. It has a real wood layer over a stone core that, per the manufacturer, makes it 100% waterproof; that is the difference from traditional hardwood, which is a risk in those rooms. It comes with a built-in cushioned backing that reduces footstep noise, resists scratches and is antimicrobial: a great choice for homes with kids and pets. Being waterproof on top does not fix an uneven or damp subfloor. Checking the slab and the leveling before we install is what prevents gaps opening between planks or boards that squeak.
