Polished marble-look porcelain tile for anyone who wants the shine and elegance of marble in living rooms, dining rooms, walls and backsplashes. Breccia Capraia pairs a white background with wide gold and brown veining: a marble with lots of personality. It is rectified, color-body porcelain: thin grout lines and an almost seamless effect, without the upkeep or staining of natural marble. Mind where it goes: the manufacturer rates the polished finish for interior dry areas only (ID). For bathroom, laundry or entry floors, the matte version of the same color is the better choice, since it is rated for wet areas. With 12" × 24" porcelain, what decides whether a tile sounds hollow or cracks is what's underneath: the leveling of the slab and the coverage of the thinset. That's why we check the slab before we install.
