Up close
Concrete-look porcelain tile with aggregate, for anyone who wants a modern, loft-style floor in living rooms, kitchens and bathrooms. Levee White is a warm white with small sand-tone aggregate, bright and easy to match. It is color-body porcelain: the color runs through the tile, so a chip on the edge is much less noticeable. It comes rectified, which allows thin grout lines, and has 12×24 and 8×48 decorative pieces to create an accent in the same line. The manufacturer rates it for interior wet areas (IW+). With 12" × 24" porcelain, what decides whether a tile sounds hollow or cracks is what's underneath: the leveling of the slab and the coverage of the thinset. That's why we check the slab before we install.
