Up close
Real hardwood in extra-wide planks for anyone who wants the floor to be the star of large living rooms and open spaces. Fernandina is a medium-tone oak with a rustic feel, with natural filled knots and cracks that give it farmhouse character. The 9-1/2" planks, up to 7' 3" long, show the full grain of French white oak, fumed by the manufacturer to develop color without a surface stain. It is engineered hardwood: it can be installed on any level of the house, nailed, stapled, glued or floated. Per the manufacturer, it is not recommended for bathrooms or very humid areas. With hardwood, what decides how long the floor lasts is what you can't see: moisture in the slab. That's why we check the slab before we install.
