Up close
Decorative acoustic panel for anyone who wants a warm accent wall that also reduces echo, in living rooms, bedrooms, home offices or behind the TV. Ebony is a dark ebony-tone wood, dramatic and elegant, ideal behind a TV or a headboard. The vertical slats visually lengthen the wall and add texture without overwhelming it. The slats are mounted on acoustic felt that, per the manufacturer, absorbs more than half of the sound that reaches it (NRC 0.55): you notice it in rooms with high ceilings, hard floors and little furniture. Each box holds 4 panels of 9.5" × 94.5", and they install with no sanding or painting. It is for dry interiors. What decides the result with an acoustic panel is the fastening: each panel is screwed into the wall studs, so we locate the framing before we install so the lines stay plumb and the panel doesn't move.
