Up close
SPC vinyl flooring, 100% waterproof per the manufacturer, for anyone who wants the look of wood in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and throughout the house without worrying about spills. Westchase is a golden natural oak, warm without being dark, and very easy to match. The EIR (embossed-in-register) surface makes the texture follow the grain pattern, so it looks and feels more real than a flat vinyl. 9" × 60.6" planks with a 4 mm rigid core and a 1.5 mm IXPE underlayment already attached, so there's no separate underlayment to buy and footsteps sound less hollow. The wear layer is 20 mil, suitable for the heavy use of a home with kids or pets. Being waterproof on top does not fix an uneven or damp subfloor. Checking the slab and the leveling before we install is what prevents gaps opening between planks or boards that squeak.
