Regal Black

Up close

Matte marble-look porcelain tile for anyone who wants the elegance of marble on floors throughout the house, including bathrooms and kitchens. Regal Black is a deep black with white veining, inspired by Nero Marquina marble: dramatic and elegant. It is rectified, color-body porcelain (high-definition printing that reproduces the veining in fine detail), with thin grout lines. The matte finish keeps the marble pattern and, per the manufacturer, is rated for interior wet areas (IW+); if you want shine on walls or backsplashes, the same color comes in polished. It works well in living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and hallways, for residential or light commercial use. With 12" × 24" porcelain, what decides whether a tile sounds hollow or cracks is what's underneath: the leveling of the slab and the coverage of the thinset. That's why we check the slab before we install.
