Up close
Rigid vinyl with the manufacturer's longest residential warranty (50 years) for anyone who wants a floor that lasts the life of the house. Natural oak with a soft grain: warm and balanced. It comes with a built-in antibacterial underlayment that curbs mold and mildew and reduces footstep noise, and it installs with a click-lock system, faster than a glue-down floor. Per the manufacturer, it is waterproof: it works in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and homes with kids and pets. Being waterproof on top does not fix an uneven or damp subfloor. Checking the slab and the leveling before we install is what prevents gaps opening between planks or boards that squeak.
