Up close
Woven-fabric-look porcelain tile for anyone who wants a floor or wall with a soft, inviting texture, different from wood or stone. Sand is a light sand tone, bright and relaxed. The weave looks like linen or tweed, but it's porcelain: it doesn't stain, doesn't absorb odors and cleans with a mop. It is rectified, color-body porcelain, and the manufacturer even approves it for heavy commercial use. Per the manufacturer, it is rated for interior wet areas (IW+); it looks great in bathrooms, laundry rooms and accent walls. With 12" × 24" porcelain, what decides whether a tile sounds hollow or cracks is what's underneath: the leveling of the slab and the coverage of the thinset. That's why we check the slab before we install.
